The Director Rev K Chanti Raju reported, “GNM is able to take up the relief works because of your support. It is obvious that without your giving/prayer support, we can't do this. So, we once again thank you for your great help both in terms of finances and prayers. Thank you.”
The photos show how the financial support they have received has been used. They sent out teams to ascertain where help was needed and how to spend the finances to best effect. They have contributed to relief efforts being undertaken by local churches and organisations, and have distributed food, rice, clothing, medicines and utensils, as well as undertaking some house construction. They also sent teams to some of the schools in the affected areas and helped with the children's medical needs.
Four of their leaders living on the coast lost their prayer houses and homes, as did most of the leaders' church members – Good News Ministry are rebuilding houses for these leaders and giving material relief to the church members affected. They have also helped the many Hindus affected by the tsunami, as a practical expression of the love of Jesus Christ towards them.
Most of those affected were fishermen who lost their boats and nets, and Good News Ministry will be spending any future funds received towards purchasing new fishing nets and repairing damaged fishing boats for the affected fishermen's families living on the seacoast.
Good News Ministry acknowledges the Lord's provision through the receipt of the financial support and they send their grateful thanks to all those who have prayed for them and contributed finances. They ask that you continue to pray for their work.
